Your safari begins with a flight from Entebbe International Airport aboard a scheduled Aero-link flight, available on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Departing at 12:30 PM, you’ll enjoy stunning aerial views of Uganda’s lush landscapes during the 2-hour flight to Kidepo. As you descend into the wild, you’ll be greeted by the rugged beauty of Kidepo’s vast savannahs and mountainous horizons.
Upon landing at Apoka Airfield at 2:45 PM, you’ll meet your driver-guide, who will whisk you to your lodge for check-in and a delicious lunch. After settling in, embark on an exciting afternoon game drive through the awe-inspiring Narus Valley. This picturesque valley is teeming with wildlife, including herds of Cape buffalo, African elephants, Jackson’s hartebeest, and the agile Klipspringer. With luck, you may also encounter predators like lions stalking their prey, or even a lone jackal hunting in the golden grasslands.
As the sun sets, casting a warm glow over the savannah, you’ll return to your lodge for evening relaxation. Enjoy a hearty dinner and an overnight stay at either Kidepo Savannah Lodge or Apoka Safari Lodge, where the night sounds of the African wilderness will lull you to sleep.
