Places to visit while on safari to Rwanda 

Volcanoes National Park.

Volcanoes National Park is located in northwest Rwanda and borders Mgahinga National Park in Uganda and Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is part of the Virunga Mountain Range and is home to the world’s endangered mountain gorillas, five of the eight stunning Virunga volcanoes, rare Golden monkeys, a variety of bird species, and a historic site connected to American primatologist Diane Fossey, whose graveyard is located between Mount Karisimbi and Mount Bisoke at her original Karisoke Research Centre, which she used to conduct her gorilla studies.

There are twelve habituated Mountain Gorilla Groups that tourists can interact with while gorilla trekking, making it without a doubt the most enjoyable activity in this National Park. Nyungwe National Park.

Kigali City.

Kigali City, which is renowned for being the Cleanest City in Africa, has swiftly evolved into a bustling metropolis that combines modern and traditional elements. A site of memory and education! Situated in Gisozi, the Rwandan capital, Kigali Genocide Memorial Grounds is a mere ten minutes’ drive from the town centre. It serves as a memorial and final burial place for over 250,000 victims of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide against the Tutsi. The museum features exhibitions with archives of video testimonies from Genocide survivors and rescuers, perpetrator testimonies from court proceedings, footage from annual remembrance ceremonies (Kwibuka), archival photographs for the fallen victims hanged on walls, colonial documents, identification records, maps, foreign serials and propaganda publications and you can visit the Museum for educative, personal and research purposes to know detailed information about this horrific incident through events and historical implications of the Genocide.

Coffee & Tea Plantations.

Rwanda has many tea and coffee plantations spread throughout the country, particularly in the northern and western provinces. At the edges of Nyungwe National Park, numerous tea plantations encircle the park on expansive, rolling slopes. Rwanda is also well-known throughout the world for producing the best tea and coffee, with tea being the nation’s top export and coffee winning international competitions.
