This action-packed 4-days safari to see the Bwindi gorillas and Lake Bunyonyi begins and concludes in Kampala. The safari will take you to Uganda’s southwest, to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you can interact with mountain gorillas in their native habitat. The four-day Bwindi gorillas and Lake Bunyonyi safari will also take you to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda and the second-deepest lake in East Africa after Lake Tanganyika, where you can have an intriguing boat cruise and discover the 29 islands.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

ย On the first day of the four-day Bwindi gorillas and Lake Bunyonyi safari, your driver guide will meet you and give you a quick introduction to the safari before setting out to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park that takes 9 to 10 hours. After the trip introduction you will proceed your journey to Bwindi, with the stop over at the equator to take stunning pictures and buying souvenirs. You embark on the journey after taking pictures making a second stopover in Mbarara city for enroute lunch, after lunch you will again proceed with your trip while having wonderful views of the surroundings in Ntungamo and Kabale, including terraced farmlands, beautiful hills, along the way. You will check into the lodge for dinner and the overnight stay when you get to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

 

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park.

On the second day of your 4-day Bwindi gorillas in Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi, you’ll get up early in the morning and eat breakfast. Together with your packed a lunch, and meet your driver guide to take you to the park headquarters for a briefing on the guidelines and rules for going on a gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will be grouped into groups of 8 members per group and then be assigned a gorilla family to trek and begin your jungle journey with a knowledgeable park guide. Depending on where the gorillas are, gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park might take anything from 30 minutes to 6 hours. This is because gorillas tend to wander around in search of food. When the mountain gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend an hour with them in their natural habitat. This gives you the chance to learn about their behaviors and habits, watch them feed, breastfeed, and groom young ones, take pictures, and record the moments to share with others once the safari is over. You will return to the beginning site after spending an hour with the gorillas, where you will receive a certificate for taking part in gorilla trekking. Later, you will meet your driver guide to go to the lodge for an evening of leisure, dinner, and overnight.

 

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

On the third day of your 4-days Bwindi gorillas and Lake Bunyonyi begins with you waking up early and be served with delicious breakfast. You then check out of the lodge and meet your driver/guide to travel to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale with wonderful sightings along the way. You will check into the lodge for lunch when you get at Lake Bunyonyi, and then you will take a fascinating boat cruise around the lake. You may tour several of the islands around the lake, while on the boat cruise, as well as take the incredible sightings of the beautiful bird species. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight after the boat cruise.

 

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala.

ย The final day of your 4-days Bwindi gorillas and Lake Bunyonyi will begin with waking up early in the morning and taking a leisurely breakfast, after check out from the lodge and meet your driver guide to get back to Kampala. You will stop for lunch along the way in Mbarara town at Igongo cultural centre. After lunch you will embark on your journey to Kampala where you will arrive in the evening. Your driver guide will take you to your convenient place either to Entebbe International Airport so as you can catch your next flight or at your hotel.
