Begin your journey with an early morning pickup from Kampala, where you’ll meet your safari guide for a briefing on the upcoming adventure. Set off on a scenic 6- to 7-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. En route, you’ll make a stop at Kayabwe, the site of the equator crossing, where you can take part in a fun equator experiment and snap memorable photos. Feel free to pick up a few souvenirs from the local artisan shops before continuing your journey along the Masaka road.
Lunch will be enjoyed at the Igongo Cultural Centre, where you'll savour authentic Ugandan cuisine served by warm and welcoming staff. The cultural centre also offers a glimpse into Uganda’s heritage, with sculptures, a museum, and a bookstore adding to the experience.
As you continue your journey, the lush tea plantations in the Ishaka region will greet you with serene and rolling vistas. Upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, you’ll check in to your lodge—either the luxurious Mweya Safari Lodge or the mid-range Parkview Safari Lodge. The rest of the evening is yours to relax and take in the natural beauty surrounding you, followed by a delicious dinner and restful overnight stay.
