Afterward, with your packed lunch in hand, you'll meet your safari guide and proceed to the starting point for your gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. At the park, you and other trekkers will receive a detailed briefing on the rules and what to expect during your trek. You’ll be divided into groups of eight and assigned to a specific gorilla family, accompanied by experienced rangers. As you trek through the lush, biodiverse jungle, you’ll take in the stunning natural surroundings while searching for the gorillas.
The trek can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you find them, you'll be allowed to spend one hour observing their natural behaviors, such as feeding, playing, and nest-building. This hour also provides a perfect opportunity to capture photographs and videos of these remarkable creatures.
After your gorilla encounter, you’ll return to the starting point and receive a certificate for your participation in the trek. You’ll then meet your safari guide for the drive back to your lodge, where you can relax. Later in the afternoon, you have the option to partake in additional activities such as Batwa cultural tours, forest walks, or nature walks. You’ll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
